WHAT WE DO
Just Dancing opened in January 1985
We are associated to the International Dance Teachers Association (IDTA)
Royal Academy Of Dance (RAD)
We teach the following dance subjects:
BALLET, TAP, THEATRE CRAFT, MODERN JAZZ , DISCO/FREESTYLE, SINGING
WHO DO YOU TEACH?
Just Dancing teaches children from 3years upwards
WHAT ELSE DO YOU DO?
We also provide classes for people who have osteoporosis, and a fun class for adults.
WHO TAKES THE CLASSES?
Miss Dawn (FIDTA) is the Principal,
Miss Diane takes the RAD Ballet.
Some of the classes are taken by the senior students who are taking their teaching exams: Miss Cheryl, Miss Lindsay, Miss Lauren.
Sometimes some of our ex students who have gone to university and now live away from Chesterfield come and take classes.
WHERE ARE YOU?
That depends on what day it is:
Monday, Brampton RAD Ballet
Wednesday, Ashgate IDTA classes all subjects
Thursday, Staveley IDTA Ballet, Tap, Disco
Saturday, Wingerworth IDTA All subjects
DO YOU DO SHOWS?
We try to do a show at one of the local theatres every 2 years, and in between we have a display at Christmas or in the summer.

WHAT ABOUT EXAMS?
Exams are taken every 6-12months approximately, sometimes though we do more if we haven’t got a show.
AND FESTIVALS/COMPETITIONS?
We do festivals/competitions sometimes 5 times a year:
February, Brampton
Easter, Stocksbridge
May, Ridings
July, Acorns Summer
September, Acorns Autumn
These are all in the Barnsley areas, the pupils as you can see by looking at their profiles and photographs really enjoy them and win lots of medals.
DO YOU DO ANYTHING ELSE?
We like to do school fetes as often as possible. We also do charity shows e.g Noel Edmonds airbourne charity. Elderly peoples parties, and visit care homes. We also take part in the Rotary pensioners Christmas parties.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
Lesson fees vary depending upon what subjects are take, how many people are in the class, where the venue is and whether it is a private 1:1 class, or a student/teachers class.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
Again it depends on the classes you attend, if you want to dance seriously then we have different uniforms for different classes if you are coming to a fun class then it is a different uniform again.
CAN ANYONE JOIN?
Yes, for the fun classes and general exam classes, children from 3 years old can come along to class .Sometimes an assessment is needed for prospective pupils coming from other dancing schools.
